New Article: The Three-Layer UI Component Architecture
My latest article about The Three-Layer UI Component Architecture explores the challenges of creating custom component libraries for multiple products or applications, especially for companies maintaining two or more design systems. The Three-Layer UI Component Architecture offers a solution using reusable components as building blocks for multiple design systems. Check it out for insights into how this architecture can enhance reusability, scalability, and maintainability in your projects.
Upcoming Conferences I Will Be Attending
I'm excited to share the events I'll be participating in over the coming months:
May 12: Vue.js Live in London – I'll talk about "How to Write Good Tests for Vue Apps."
May 24: DevConf in Cape Town – My talk at this event will be titled "There and Back Again: From MPAs to SPAs and Back."
Unfortunately, my proposed talk for Vueconf US (May 25-26) was not accepted. However, the event has a fantastic lineup, and I highly recommend anyone check it out.
I look forward to meeting some of you in London or Cape Town! Be sure to say hi if you spot me at either of these conferences!
A Closer Look at the Remarkable 2
After hearing Scott Hanselman's glowing recommendation, I decided to treat myself to a Remarkable 2 (save $ 40 with this link) as a Christmas gift. This digital notepad has gained quite a following, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype. After three months of use, I can now detail its pros and cons.
Pros:
Fast performance and low latency make for a smooth writing experience
Limited features eliminate distractions, allowing users to focus on writing
Writing feels more natural compared to other devices, like the iPad
Aesthetically pleasing design
Cons:
Resolution could be better, as 300dpi or higher would be ideal
Relatively expensive for the features offered
No backlight
Lack of Firefox plugin for "read on Remarkable" feature
No sync with e-readers
In conclusion, the Remarkable 2 is a great device for avid note-takers unconcerned about the price, but it may not suit everyone. If you're keen on trying it, use my affiliate link for a $40 discount on your purchase, and I'll also receive a $40 referral bonus. Happy note-taking!
